2011 NBA Draft Utah Jazz Enes Kanter and Alec Burks

Yesterday at 5 I turned on the t.v. and turned to espn to watch the nba draft and to my surprise i had to wait for 30 freaking minutes before it started. I was irritated enough with the build up of my anticipation to see what team is choosing who and such just like when i was a 10 yr old waiting for the morning of christmas to open presents and having to do the traditional family thing of having a breakfast together and taking those not so memorable christmas pictures (indeed a few were fun but not every single one).

To my liking the Utah Jazz picked Enes Kanter with their third pick and Alec Burks with their 12th pick. The Utah Jazz did right choosing Enes Kanter because of 1) has great potential and is of good character 2) can be a great backup to Al Jefferson and some time can become an allstar. Mehmet Okur always is injured and we don't know when he will show up. It was either Kanter or Brandon Knight and they chose wisely because Knight has the same kind of qualities and is like the Devin Harris type which we already have. I like the Alec Burks pick too. I was hoping that Jimmer fell to the 12th spot because the Jazz would make mad money with his name and the fan base would grow increasingly. Alec Burks like many people said is a Ronnie Brewer 2.0, but as he said yesterday that he has a chip on his shoulder, it is a great motivation tool.

The Jazz are in the right direction with these picks if they can blossom under the Jazz system. Congrats to Kevin O' Connor and hopefully we can be back in the playoffs next year, if there is basketball.
