Dedication to my beloved Milford, Utah
I'm back to Blogger and making my comeback right... well sort of.
It's been who know 8 months or so that I haven't posted anything on Blogger which was supposed to be a class project for my communications class, which by the way I got a C on it cause I didn't do too much. It's a shame because I like doing this kind of thing and letting people know of who I am and what I like to do so I can leave something of me behind with the rest of the world instead of falling into the obscurity of society through the media.
Anyways I like to dedicate my first post of the new year which isn't so new, (after all we are half way through February, WoW!), to the town that I grew up in my middle and high school years. I graduated from this city and what can I say, Its a totally different town than the rest that I've been in in southern Utah. There isn't much to do there but it allows anyone to take advantage of the things that most people wouldn't be able to do in a bigger city in the High school.
I'm saying not the bad things but the good things. I did a lot of varsity and jv sports here which I probably wouldn't have the opportunity to do in any bigger school. I don't like to boast about myself because it shows that I am better than anyone else, but I would like to acknowledge of what I did because it helped me become a better person with more knowledge in many things. I did freshmen and JV men's basketball, Cross Country Running, I ran Track, I did wrestling, was an assistant coach for Milford City Recreational Soccer team, and I helped manage the Milford High school cable channel in my senior year.
It's a great resume and I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to do these things because I probably wouldn't of had the privilege of doing these things in any other place. I like to thank Milford and the High School for giving me these experiences that I will always cherish.
Here are some pictures that I took a couple of weeks ago when I visited my parents in Milford. Enjoy these pictures and I will be back sooner than later with another post.

If you are in a car accident, it can probably be associated with a gadget distraction

Causing a car accident by being distracted on your iphone or android can be very embarrassing. It is even more embarrassing that about 1/4 of car accidents are caused by such incidents of gadget usage and it becoming a distraction. Mashable.com reports that on a new study made by the Governers Highway Safety Association (GHSA) addresses that 25% of car accidents are caused by cellphone and other gadget distractions.
Some of the most common distractions for drivers to cause these accidents in this category according to a GHSA report are cellphone use, texting while driving, and gadget fiddling. That means that these type of actions are quite dangerous by causing this great harm for any kind of person on the road.
Many states in the country have tried to refrain people from texting while driving by banning it, but it hasn't really worked. In the GHSA report, the GHSA Executive Director Barbara Harsha said "Much of the research is incomplete or contradictory. Clearly, more studies need to be done addressing both the scope of the problem and how to effectively address it.”
Cellphone technology is great and it can be an amazing way to communicate to your loved ones but how can you call them if your ok if your too hurt to use it.

Stay cool with a USB powered necktie clip cooler
Missionaries who serve in a hot climate country can now relax a little with some air conditioning. According to Techcrunch.com, a Tokyo-based accessory maker called Thanko has created and made a new gadget to help cool off during those hot days inside or outside of the office.
They created the gadget that you can connect from you neck tie that has a mini fan on it and it is powered by a USB. There are two ways into plugging into electricity: first you can directly connect it to a computer or whatever device that has a USB connection; and you can plug the battery unit and charge it so you can take it wherever you seem deem to go when the heat is at it's worse.
This device weighs about 28 grams and is a miracle gadget to the heat haters. Thanko will be selling the USB necktie clip cooler only on their online store at $35 dollars a pop, but maybe later it will actually come to the Japanese Trend Shop in the states.
One would think how many missionaries could this necktie clip cooler save during those dreadful summer days or the glazing heat waves that they endure during the afternoon hours of the day proselyting and searching for new investigators. Maybe it would lessen the anguish of the burning sun.

Is money, instead of customer service, a priority for Netflix?
According to David Pogue, of The New York Times, Netflix will increase their subscription 60 percent on Sept. 1 for any existing and new customers. The service provided by Netflix allows customers to stream movies and television shows to their computers, droids, and game consoles and soon to be Nintendo 3DSs.
The movie rental company who had a significant role on putting out of business many other movie rental companies (like Hollywood Video, and, almost to be out of business, Blockbuster Video) will start charging customers $16 dollars instead of the normal $10.
Changing the price in an almost overnight like situation has irrated many of Netflix's customers. On the Facebook page of Netflix, there has been over 44,000 messages concerning about the change and many of them will be canceling their subscription with the company and why or what are the reasons of Netflix upping of the price.
Many have questioned the motives behind Netflix and why they are doing this. The statement that Netflix made on their blog makes no sense as to the reason as it says, "Creating an unlimited DVDs by mail plan (no streaming) at our lowest price ever, $7.99, does make sense and will ensure a long life for our DVDs by mail offering.”
So there is not a change to the renewel of contracts with the movie companies nor about the prices of inflation???
If a better strategical action of making more money was created by Netflix of raising their prices, there wouldn't be such a tremendous amount of retaliation from it's customers.

A little more about myself
So yeah just in case you forgot who I was, my name is Manny Patino.
Something about myself is that I was born and raised in the United States. Both of my parents are from Mexico. I have lived in Utah almost for my entire life. I've lived in Idaho for 2 and a half years and I am living currently there and going to school in BYU Idaho. Idaho can be a little boring but so can Utah and it just depends with who you hang out.
My dream would be working as a music producer and working with famous artists with major talent. I've done some DJ'ing but it isn't as fun as I thought it would be. Making the music instead of playing it is alot of fun and I hope to do that someday without having to work at a dead end job or something that i don't like to do.
Right now i'm really tired cause I only got like 4 hours of sleep. This whole week has been a drag and I feel really tired. I can't think alot right now but each week i will post a blog about myself other than the blogs that i have to do for a communications class that I'm taking.

2011: The beginning of sweat resistant smart phones
Does everyone who uses Sony Ericson phones have a hard time with sweat uncontrollably? Now is a great time to think about buying a smartphone if you are sweat heavy.
According to CNN tech last Wednesday in the CommunicAsia conference in Singapore, Sony Ericson displayed the sweat resistant phone called Xperia Active. The phone is set to be dust proof, water resistant, and is incorporates "wet finger tracking" for those that use their phone while they are in the gym working out or jogging. It is primarily aimed to that.
Sony Ericson recognizes that most smart phones are similar in what they do so they are trying to create something a little different than the normal. Something to differentiate themselves from the other companies that make smart phones and androids. That they may have a more custom feel to the customer.
This is a good phone to use for anyone who can get easily nervous when they ask for a number of a girl or a guy so the sweat of their hands won't cause any problems to their phones.

Facebook saves a dog's life
If dogs could talk then a pit bull with the name of Nick will likely be saying thanks a million times.
Steve Jordan, who saved the pit bull's life by arriving at the Miami Dade animal shelter before the dog was going to be euthenized, had to fly from Michigan all the way to Miami, Florida to save the two year old dog. He went for the rescue and is now a hero.
MSN said on Thursday that the way that these two found each other was through Facebook a couple of month's ago in March. Steve Jordan found the pit bull through an Urgent Dog's page that was created by Maggie Rodriguez who is head of Miami-based group that provides pictures and details of local dogs on the Facebook page.
Jordan wanted the dog because it reminded him of his bull terrier that died in 2005. Maggie knew that Nick wasn't going to stick around so she ran on her feet to the shelter while Jordan flew in an airplane to get there in Miami. They arrived just in time to save Nick.
"Put it this way. I haven't cried in the past two years more than I have in the past 24 hours trying to get here to save him," said Jordan in a very emotional way. Nick had to be very emotional too. We should use Facebook more often.
